Canadians complain as soon as the weather drops below 15 degrees or goes anywhere above 25, but I think we’re lucky to live in a country with so many options - weather and otherwise. We should enjoy each season in turn.

I really hoped to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights on a...

I really hoped to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights on a trip to Moosonee, Ont., this summer. We didn’t, but the sky on this particular day (almost) made up for it: it was overcast, but didn’t rain. Deep blue clouds swirls took the place of a grey sky, looming over our heads.

Out on the Moose River.

Out on the Moose River.

This is my dad’s favourite photo. When I was young, our father-daughter tradition was canoeing around Hamer Bay. We’d get up early(ish), and pop the canoe in the water before the wind made it difficult to paddle.
Last fall was particularly pretty. The orange light on the side of these east Ontario farmhouses and the way the dark tree line swallows up the colours made me run for my camera.
